Prepare to retire

If you are late in your career, this workshop is the one for you.

In this workshop, you will focus on the retirement process.

Sessions are facilitated by our Retirement Information Consultants who are CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals.

Module 1 – How it all comes together
This module will help you with your budget considerations in retirement and investigate in more detail the various sources of income that you may have.  The presentation will include topics such as the Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security and other potential investments.

Module 2 – The money and beyond
This session will provide you with information on tax planning considerations and ask you to reflect on other aspects of your financial picture.  Topics will include wills and estates, powers of attorney and other topics to help get your financial house in order.

Module 3 – Understanding My Pension Plan
This session will review the MEPP defined benefit plan, how the benefit is calculated, and teach you how to read your statement. It will help you identify and understand your potential retirement dates, provide detailed options available to you, and what you might want to consider when making your decisions. Although not required you may find it very useful to have your MEPP statement with you for reference.

As a MEPP member, you are welcome to attend any of the three workshops in the Your Path to Retirement series. It’s easy to register! Just find the workshop you are interested in and complete the online registration form. Registrations close 48 hours prior to each workshop.

While all of the modules for each workshop are designed as standalone sessions, taking the complete set of modules in order will offer you the most benefit.

If you require more information, please contact one of our consultants at 306-787-3170 or ric@peba.gov.sk.ca.
